Construction Work Worth Up To £1bn Up For Grabs

It has been revealed that the North West Construction Hub is retendering its medium value framework. Potential work of between £250m-£1bn is up for grabs. Almost a dozen firms are currently vying to retain places on a pre-tendered panel. They are chasing projects that could be worth up to £10m.

The pre-tendered panel included: BAM, Conlon, Galliford Try, ISG, Keepmoat, Kier, Laing O’Rourke, Seddon, Vinci, Wates and Willmott Dixon.

The framework for the construction hub will be divided into sub-regional lots for projects valued up to £5m. They will be in Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. A further lot will take in larger projects valued at up to £10m anywhere in the North West.

Three-year framework

Manchester City Council is hosting the procurement for the three-year framework. Expressions of interest must meet a deadline of 15 October. NWS-UK Limited understands a new panel will be appointed by March 2019.

Since its launch nine years ago, the NWCH has delivered 366 projects for 101 clients. Key dates for the current framework of construction projects are March 18, 2019 and March 17, 2023. This is the period in which the projects will be developed.
