The week has started with news that Rolls-Royce has developed a flying taxi, and a call from Conservative MP Justine Greening for a second public vote on Brexit. Meanwhile, PVC sheet bulk distributor NWS-UK Limited is highlighting the cost and quality benefits of its CladPanel products.
If all that sounds like too much to take in at once, here’s a breakdown…
Flying taxi poised for take-off
Rolls-Royce says it has developed a propulsion system for a flying taxi. The engine maker claims the revolutionary form of transport could take off – literally – in the next decade. The EVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) taxi will carry up to five people. It could revolutionise the way people live and work.
The taxi is expected to travel at speeds of up to 250 mph (402 km/h). It will be able to complete journeys of up to 500 miles. News of the development came ahead of the Farnborough Airshow. The EVTOL is being hailed as the ‘next big thing’ in personal air travel.
More Brexit woes for May
Are you bored of Brexit? We will just say Justine Greening MP has called for a second public vote on the issue. Enough said.
Exciting PVC sheet news

The Sheffield-based specialist plastic sheet supplier covers the whole of the country. It is the sole UK distributor of high-quality CladPanel products, made in Germany.
Some of the plastic sheet stocked by NWS-UK has been manufactured to its own specifications. A spokesman said: “We have been in the PVC sheet business for years. We know the standards our clients and expect. Our plastic sheet exceeds expectations while also delivering on the cost front.”
